Loh Kean Yew is a professional badminton player from Singapore. He was born on 26 June 1997 in Singapore. He began playing badminton at the age of four and showed promise early on in his career.

He furthered his education at Republic Polytechnic while studying Sports and Leisure Management. After finishing his studies, Loh Kean Yew began to focus on his badminton career full-time. He quickly rose through the ranks and in 2017, he won the men’s singles title at the Scottish Open Grand Prix. Later that year, he won the gold medal in the men’s singles event at the SEA Games held in Malaysia.
In 2018, Loh Kean Yew competed at the Commonwealth Games held in Gold Coast, Australia. He reached the quarter-finals of the men’s singles event before losing to eventual gold medalist Lee Chong Wei of Malaysia. Later that year, he won the men’s singles title at the Hyderabad Open in India.
