On July 7, 2012, Gill made his professional debut at the Sheffield Arena, defeating Kristian Laight via a four-round points decision (PTS).

Having amassed a 21–0 (5 KO) record, he squared up against Commonwealth featherweight champion Ryan Doyle on October 27, 2018, in London’s Copper Box Arena.

Using body blows, Gill knocked the champion to the mat in the seventh round. Referee Victor Laughlin stopped the fight when Doyle successfully beat the official’s count of ten. Gill was declared the new Commonwealth champion after Gill won via technical knockout (TKO) in the seventh round.

On March 2, 2019, at the East of England Arena in Peterborough, Gill competed for the vacant WBA International featherweight title after vacating his Commonwealth belt early in 2019.

Gill had an early night, dropping his opponent twice in the third round in rapid succession. He then trapped Dominguez aga inst the ropes while landing a barrage of punches, causing the referee to stop the fight. Gill won via third-round TKO to claim the regional WBA title.

Two months later, on May 10, at Nottingham’s Motorpoint Arena, he made his first championship defense against Mario Enrique Tinoco.

Gill was dropped three times by body punches: once in the third round, once more in the fifth, and once more in the seventh.

Gill was scheduled to play Yesner Talavera at Florence, Italy’s Tuscany Hall on September 19, 2019. All three judges scored the bout 60–54 in favor of him, giving him a unanimous decision victory in his maiden fight outside of the United Kingdom.

Gill’s next matchup was set for August 1, 2020, against Reece Bellotti. He prevailed via unanimous decision, with two judges giving him a score of 97–93 and a third judge giving Gill a score of 96–95.

In a match for the vacant WBA International featherweight title on February 20, 2021, Gill challenged Cesar Juarez after triumphantly recovering from his first career loss.

By unanimous decision, he prevailed with scores of 98–92, 98–93, and 96–94. On December 11, 2021, Gill was scheduled to compete against Karim Guerfi for the European featherweight championship.

Later, Guerfi pulled out of the fight due to illness, and Alan Castillo took Gill on in a non-title match in his place. After three rounds, the bout was declared a draw by technical decision.

The ringside doctor advised stopping the fight after Gill’s unintentional head contact resulted in a significant laceration on his hairline.
