The Ghana Football Association has organized a National Day of fasting and prayers for the Ghana Black Stars ahead of the 2022 World Cup tournament in Qatar.

Muslims in the country are expected to fast on Friday 21st October 2022 and Christians nationwide are also expected to fast on Sunday 23rd October 2022.

In reaction to that, Sally Mann has described the GFA as a big fat joke given the new directives they have given Ghanaians for the fasting. She said that football game has nothing to do with God or prayers.

She said that football is all about actions on the field and not about God and prayers. She could not fathom why the GFA would organize such a task for Ghanaians in favor of the Ghana Black Stars.

What kind of joke is this? That we are going to pray for Ghana Black Stars? Ghana is a big fat joke. Football is not about prayers or God. Football is about the action on the field. The prayer for the Black Stars is not necessary, she said.
