Sriman was born Kumaravatha Srinivasa Reddy on 14 February 1972. His father Karri Prakash Reddy is a popular dancer. He was also Assistant Dance Director and Executive Producer at the brother’s Company. He later founded a production company and produced 24 Telugu and Kannada films. His mother Jaya Lakshmi is a housewife. He has two siblings, a brother Prabhakaran and a sister Surekha.
His uncle K. S. Reddy was the film industry’s first popular dancer and popular dance director, starred in several films, and became a film director. Sriman attended Bharath Higher Secondary School in Teynampet and Adyar. After that, he transferred to T. Nagar’s Shagaranagar High School.
He graduated from Pachayayappa University, Chennai. He began his career as a child artist in 1975 and loved acting. He learned from Masters, Kala Masters, and Vasu Masters. Apart from his dancing skills, he is also a trained rider, at YMCA he has training in martial arts and Silambam gymnastics from Master Sekar (Kung Fu) of Gopal and Pandian Masters.
Coming from a strong film background, he began his film career in 1975 as a child actor in the Telugu film Bangarra Manushr. After that, he worked for Korada Rani, Jyoti Lakshmi Manishi Murugam, Seetama Santhanam, Pichodu Peri, Tuphan Meir, Candi Chamundi, and Leil Dophedi. By 1984, after appearing in 17 films directed by his uncle K. S. Reddy and mostly produced by his father Prakash Reddy, he went into acting and returned to pursue his studies. After graduating from college, he took on his acting crown in Telugu and Tamil cinema.
In the 90s, he played the main character’s friend in several films. He was spotted by director Geetha Krishna of Keechu Rallu, in Tamil director Kasturi Raja’s dancing class, introduced him to MOUNA MOZHI produced by the late Mr. Eknath, director Vikraman directed him and gave him a cameo role in his Tamil film Pudya Managhar. He played a supporting role in Priyam and then Love Today for Vijay star which he considers a turning point in his career.
In the mid-2000s, he appeared in a series of lead roles in films with an adult theme including Sorry Enaku Kalyanamayidichu (2005), Unarchigal (2005), and the unreleased Sati Savithri.
