Born Sergio Giavanni Kitchens, popularly known in showbiz scenes as Gunna was born on June 14th 1993 in College Park, Georgia in the United States of America. Gunna was raised by a single parent, his mother along with his four older brothers.

Early Life & Career

Gunna, an American rapper and songwriter started his music journey at the age of fifteen years old. He listened to artists like Cam’ron, Chingy, and Outkast while growing up. Gunna went to Langston Hughes High School and North Springs Charter School of Arts and Sciences. Under the alias Yung Serg, Gunna released the mixtape Hard Body in 2013. He encountered Young Thug through his close friend who also happens to be a community leader Keith “King” Troup, who passed away in December 2015. Later, he was a featured rapper on Thug’s song “Floyd Mayweather” from his promotional mixtape Jeffery, which also included Travis Scott and Gucci Mane. Through YSL Records, Gunna released his debut mixtape Drip Season on October 14, 2016. It included YSL members like Young Thug, Lil Duke, and Nechie. On May 11, 2017, he made the mixtape Drip Season 2. It included a number of well-known Atlanta and YSL artists, including Offset, Playboi Carti, and Young Thug. On a “Grand Theft Auto” radio station, Playboi Carti was featured on the mixtape “YSL.”

On November 30, 2017, he released his debut extended play, “Drip or Drown,” which was fully produced by his friend and record producer Wheezy, with just Young Thug making a cameo. He released the promotional mixtape Drip Season 3 on February 2, 2018. Hoodrich Pablo Juan, Lil Durk, Nav, Metro Boomin, and Lil Yachty had major guest appearances on it, and the deluxe version included Lil Uzi Vert, Young Jordan, Young Thug, and Lil Baby. A joint single by Gunna and Lil Baby titled “Drip Too Hard” was released on September 12, 2018, and it served as the first track of their mixtape Drip Harder. The album’s lead single, the title tune, was made available by Gunna on May 18, 2020. On May 22, four days later, Gunna released the album. Young Thug, Nechie, Lil Baby, Roddy Ricch, and Travis Scott make cameo appearances on it. His first number-one album, the record debuted at the top of the Billboard 200. The deluxe edition, which included eight new songs and additional guest performances from Yak Gotti, Future, Nav, and Lil Uzi Vert, was released on July 24, 2020.

His single “Lemonade,” which includes Don Toliver and Nav, was released by Gunna and the hip-hop group and record label Internet Money on August 14, 2020. Slime Language 2 was a joint album by Gunna, Young Thug, and their record company Young Stoner Life that was released on April 16, 2021. Gunna’s fourth and last edition in his Drip Season series, DS4Ever, his third studio album, was made available on January 7, 2022. 28 people connected to YSL were indicted in a 56-count Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) indictment in May 2022, including Gunna and Young Thug. Gunna turned himself up to the authorities on May 11, 2022. Kitchens’ request for a bond was rejected, and his trial is set to start on January 9 of 2023. In advance of his January trial, Gunna was once more denied release from custody on October 13, 2022.

Gunna is not yet married and he has not made any revelations about his relationship on social media. However, he penned down a short message to his future wife saying that he is almost ready to walk down the aisle.
